Sailor Moon

Ahhhhhhh, ::kicks back on her lawn chair, pulling out a Sailor Moon Magna::: Yep yep yep...Yeppers. You've reached, and found Mel's obbession. Sailor Moon...I love the show, I love the characters, I love the fanfic, I love the artwork, I love the fans, I love the name Meatball Head, and the Japanese name Tuskino Usagi is just phat. Darien is incredibly hot, and he makes you want to jump right into that cartoon world and take him. Righteo...Sailor Moon is the ultimate.
Most people think of it as a show for 3 years olds. But if your one of those people who think that, let me put you in your place. Sailor Moon actually started out in Japan, not so many years ago. I believe it was created by a woman, named Naoko Takeuchi. She wrote the original Sailor Moon comics in 1992. Thats how the show got started by the way. ^_^ In Japan, the show is more for people my age. 14 and up! When the DIC bought the show, they only planned on having so many shows. There were only about 64 episodes I believe. But than a bunch of outraged Sailor Moon fans, from all over the world, OTHER than from Japan, got so hooked on the show, even THOUGH it was made for THREE year olds elsewhere from Japan, started a "Save Our Sailors" website. For a few years, even before I became a fan, they were fighting to get the Sailor Moon movies, merchandise, and the rest of the episodes. Its good news to say that we finally won the battle, and got our wish. ^_^ The movies are out, and I just can't wait till the day I get them.
Now, the sucky part of all this, is that in the U.S. version of the show, DIC cut out most of the parts, and put in cheesy lines such as "Nega Sleaze, I will vaporize you! In the name of MARS!" or something like that. But I love the English voices of them though. I hope that when they dub the movies, they get the original voice of Sailor Moon, not the one in the first few episodes, the weak one. But the strong, incredible one. I'd do anything to meet her! Actually, her name is Terri Hawkes. The incredible sexy voice of Tuxedo Mask was done by Toby Proctor.
I'm hilarious with the show sometimes, like in "Rubeus Strikes out." I mean, I went ballistic. I was so excited watching her kick his butt. hahahahaha, it was great guys! Well, I bet most of you saw that one anyway. If you haven't, man you have to. I was screaming victory for her when she got off that floor, and he was sooo surprised. So hey, if your laughing right now. I"M A MOONIE DAMMIT, and VERY proud of it! So hahahahaha, nenier nenier nenier! hehehehe. Anyhooo.
I have grown VERY fond of the Japanese names for my dear Sailors, so if you hear something like...Minako..somewhere on my page, of course you'll want to know what it means! So I figure, I'll give you the important translations, and meanings of their names that I so rapidly searched on throughout other websites, and small tokens of the Japan shows.

Sailor Moon's true identity is Serena, but she is called in Japanese, "Tuskino Usagi" which means "rabbit of the moon." Her planet name in Japanese is "tsuki."

Sailor Mercury's true identity is Amy Anderson, but in Japanese is Mizuno Ami, which means "friend of water" Her planet name Mercury in Japanese is "suisei."

Sailor Mar's true identity is Raye Hino, but in Japanese it isn't much different...Hino Rei which means "spirit of fire." (Hmmm...you know, I think I might want to actually name my future child one of these cool names. hehe) Her planet name Mars in Japanese is "kasei."

Sailor Jupiter's true identity is Lita, in Japanese she is called "Kino Makoto" which means "faithfulness of tree." Her planet name is "mokusei" in Japanese.

The last Sailor Scout is SAILOR VENUS! woohooo! Did you know, she was actually the first Sailor Scout Naoko ever made in her magnas? hehe, sorries, just a little trivia. Sailor Venus's true identity is Mina, her Japan name is "Aino Minako" which means "love's beautiful child." Beautiful huh? Venus translated is "kinsei."

And WOOOHOOO! ONTO DARIEN BABY! hehe, now all us girlies here MUST KNOW who Tuxedo Mask is. Cause oo la la, if your a moonie like me, your hypervenilating everytime his corny lines come on screen. Well of course, we know Tuxedo Mask's true identity is Darien, but his real name is "Chiba Mamoru" which means "protector of Earth." His warrior name translated is "chikyuu."

Now those are the important people, but I do love Emerald and Zoisite though. Zoisite is the same in Japanese, but Emerald is "Esmeraude" and do NOT ask me how to say it, cause I have NOOOO idea! Those two rock. That Emerald's laugh is so hilarious, she doesn't realize what a hyena she sounds like! Plus, she is like me when I'm jealous. Grrrr, all those little teenyboppy girls stealin my men. hehe. Zoisite is just incredibly great, you COULD tell there was some romantic tension goin on between her and Tuxedo Kamen. I mean, it was sooo obvious. If it were a romance novel, they would have hooked up, totally. I kind of wish they did, the show would have been soo much more interesting.

Know whats incredibly hilarious, I have been getting so into Sailor Moon again, constantly watching the reruns I have on tape, that I'm starting to catch onto Usagi's wailing again! I had it done pat before, I could cry just like her. So it was replaced with my original crying, to Usagi's. Now I'm picking it up again! Now I can whimper, and cry like her. Pretty groovy eh?
