Chapter 5

"More punch?" A.J. asked Michelle. "A.J. I am disappointed in you. Don't you figure this isn't some high school party? Thisis a REAL party, and I don't go for colored kool aid, I go for the real stuff." Michelle replied, taking a glass of vodka. A.J. grinned. "OOooohh, my kind of woman." A.J.growled out playfully, burying his face into her neck, making Michelle giggle and squeal. Howie looked at Kevin who was glaring at the two. "Jealous much?" Howie asked. "Jealous? ME? Of A.J. and her?!? Ha! That's an understatement." Kevin answered, swigging a bud light. "You know, you two are so funny together. You both act like you hate each other, but you two still go at it. No matter how angry you are with one another, your still always speaking, and hanging around with each other."
"Shut up Howie, you have no idea what your talking about." Kevin snapped, stalking away. "Whoa, where is Mr. Rogers headed?" Nick wondered, referring to Kevin. "He's mad because I tried to convince him what he really thought of Michelle." Howie explained. Nick laughed. "Man, out of all the years I have known Kevin, I have never seen him so in love with anyone as much as Michelle." Howie eyed Nick curiously. "Yea think?" "Oh ya, of course, It's only obvious the way he looks
at the girl, and how upset he gets if a guy even looks her way. You can see it in her eyes too. She lets him follow her around, and constantly lets him argue with her, eating it up. Than she goes crazy when their not fighting." Nick explained. "Wow, love is so weird." Howie muttered. "More like those two are weird!" Nick said. "Speaking of love, have you seen mine?"
"Yea, he's over there, talking to Puff Daddy." Nick punched Howie playfully. "Shut up, not that chipmunk! Mel." Nick exclaimed
defensively. "Nope, All I know is that she's somewhere here with J.C." Howie answered. "Oo! Oh! Wait!" Nick called out, seeing Justin Timberlake walking past him, stuffing a huge subway sandwich into his mouth. Nick grabbed the collar of his jacket, pulling him back. "What?" Justin said irritated, and he turned around, mouth full of his sandwich. "Oh Nick, long
time no see man." Justin said, but Nick could barely understand him. "Yea, whatever, hey, have you seen Mel?" Nick wondered eagerly. "She's in the ballroom." Justin said, swallowing his sandwich. "In the what?" Nick asked again. "The ballroom!" Justin repeated loudly, and clearly now. "Oh, thanks man." Nick
thanked him, patting him on the back just as he took another bite of his sandwich. Justin's eyes widened suddenly, and gagged. Stupid Carter! He thought as he choked on his snack, and ran to the beverage table.

Nick emerged into the ballroom, scanning the open area. The sweet melody of Mozart filled the air. Nick spotted Melony, and J.C. and stopped dead in his tracks. Wow! He thought. He saw that his girlfriend was decked out in a somewhat kinky long, white dress. It was sleeveless, with openings on either side of the dress, so you could see parts of her stomach, and
a long slit that started at her thighs. Where the hell did she get that dress?! He thought. He walked over to the two who were chatting with David Boreanz. "Hey guys! Mel, I finally found you!" Nick exclaimed, taking Melony in his arms. "Nick, I've been wondering if I'd ever get to see you tonight!" Melony said, throwing her arms around his neck. "Tell me just ONE thing, where the hell did you get that dress?!" He said, pulling away from her, staring at her in awe. "What? You don't
like it?" Melony asked. "No, I love it! I mean, Damn! You look hot!" Nick complimented. Melony blushed. "So this lovely lady is your girlfriend Nickolas?" David asked. He nodded in response. "Damn, your a lucky man." David said with a laugh.

Katie sighed, sitting down on the plush love seat. "I am so bored." Katie complained to herself. She watched people swarm noisily pass her. Suddenly, she felt a pair of hands slip over her eyes. She tensed. "Guess who?" A familiar voice sang out. She gasped, jumping up, and turning around. "Michelle!" She squealed hugging her friend. "Katie!" Michelle
mimicked with a laugh. "Oh my god, what are you doing here?" Katie wondered. "I'm here with the guys." Michelle replied.
"Their here? B-Brian's here?!" Katie exclaimed, shocked with happiness. "Yes, Brian's here!" Michelle told her, teasing her a bit. "Oh my gosh! Where is he??? I've got to see him!" Katie wondered, a eager face of a child plastered on her. "He's backstage helping some people fix the microphones or something.
You know, its just real good to know that none of those guys have gotten ego's off this fame escapade they are riding on, I mean, except of course, stupid Kevin. But you know him. Hey! Aren't you supposed to be in Paris?" "Yes, but Paul asked me to come tonight for the charity, and I couldn't pass the offer up." Katie replied. "Ok, well, their bringing in some of the children
who are healthy enough to leave the hospitals in about an hour, so that they can do the "Wish for a Celeb" bit or something. Michelle informed. "Ok, I'll be here than!" Katie called out behind her as she ran towards backstage.

"Here, hold this cord." The man instructed Brian. Brian nodded, doing as he was told. "Brian!" Brian heard a familiar gentle voice call out. He turned around just as a figure leapt into his arms. He fell to the floor, dropping the cord. "Dammit Brian!" The man shouted. Before Brian could speak, or see who had
tackled him, he felt the persons lips press against his own. The familiar taste, and sweetness made him kiss back. He pulled away looking straight into crystal green eyes. "Oh my god! It's my baby!" Brian exclaimed, pulling Katie down on top of him once again, kissing her with a fierce passion. She kissed back, while dozens of onlookers looked on with awe. Before they knew it, applause erupted from the people around them.

"Ok! It is my great pleasure to introduce the 1998 Cure for Cancer Children charity fund raiser. Thank you all for coming, especially all you celebrities who took time away from their hectic schedules to be here to make a childs dream come true. Also, a big
round of applause, and a BIGGER thanks to the donors." Anna Frankfield spoke out to the large crowd in the dining room from the stage. A big round of applause erupted through the large room that held up to 1,000 people comfortably. Michelle scanned the
crowd for A.J. but couldn't seem to find him. But she did manage to spot a familiar brown-haired male with bushy eyebrows, sitting all by himself at a table for eight. Michelle took a deep breath and made her way over to him. "Lonely?" Michelle teased, plopping down
in a chair next to him. Kevin looked at her and huffed. "Well excuse me for trying to accompany you." Michelle said angrirly, folding her arms. "Well maybe I don't want your company." Kevin whispered
out. "And be quiet, people are staring." Michelle rolled her eyes, biting her tounge to keep herself from saying anything. "As for our first celebrity speaker to thank the doners, and say a few words, please welcome..."

"Cindy Crawford!" A big round of applause erupted through the crowd. "Oh lord...Look, look who it is! It's her! The woman of my dreams, the woman I'm going to marry." Howie gushed out. "Uh D.. She's already married." A.J. said "Not when she meets me. When she meets me, she'll fall in love, and divorce her sorry husband, and come crawling on her hands, and knees into my warm embrace." Howie pointed out in a determined voice. "Uh huh...Suuuurrreee she will."
Nick put in. But Howie ignored him, and just propped his hands under his chin, hanging onto Cindy's every word. When she was done, another applause erupted through the room. "Thank you Cindy, now for our
next speaker, Ms Katie Daniels!" Katie shot up from beside Brian and Melony, making her way to the stage, applause following her. She blushed as she could hear Brian's voice shouting. "WOoooo! Ya! That's my baby! Go Katie! Look everyone, that's my angel!" Katie
stepped up to the podium. She stared out at the hundreds of people, patiently waiting for her to begin. "Um, wow. We're all here. I am very proud to be here right now. I feel so honored to be helping out children in need, and to be around some of my childhood
idols as well. But as of now, I am proud to present one of the victims of this horrid disease, who was fortunate enough to be flown in here from North Dakota to meet her favorite celebrities." Brian watched as Katie spoke, taking in her beauty and voice. She's so natural, a perfect leader. She is much better at words than I am, and a better singer. But whereas, Katie thought of it as the other way around. "Our first little fighter to this disease, which she has had it for four years already, is eight year old Polly Franklin
of North Dakota." Just than a little paled face girl, with auburn hair, and gentle green eyes emerged from behind the stage. The little girl had a saddened, and pained, but determined, and a brave look on her face. "Everyone, this is Polly. She has had Cancer in the heart for four years, and this little girls dream it to meet her all time favorite actor, Andy Lawernece, of the Lawernce brothers. Guess what Polly?" Katie said. Polly's head perked up, and she took Katie's awaiting hand. Brian could faintly here Polly's small voice ask "what?" "Andy is here to see you." Katie said loudly so her voice was booming over the room. At that, little Andy Lawernce popped out from the side of the stage, and Pollys face looked as if she was about to faint. A burst of applause burst through the audience at the end of the meeting between the two. "That was so precious!" Howie squeaked out, getting emotional. "D, keep cool man." A.J. said. Howie nodded, holding back happy tears. As the two small children left the stage, everyone clapped louder. Loud enough so they didn't hear the gunshot fly by till a painful look was brought
upon Katie's face. Brian stopped clapping, seeing her collapse. What the- he thought, but it was to late. The screams had already started.
